Washington Individual Health Insurance Plans FAQ

This is a list of real questions and answers that we have received and given.  We never disclose the source of these questions.

Question:  Thank you for your information.  I am currently with Regence  Blue Shield and I am paying $618 a month with a $750 deductable.  It is way to much money to pay every month since I pretty much only go for my annual exam once a year (so far).  This is why I am looking into a lower monthly payment.

Answer: You didn't mention  your age so I don't have a quote, however the Lifewise Health Plan of WA  (Premera Blue Cross affiliate) Wise essentials 25 has been popular with my clients to reduce costs.  The rates range from $87/month on up for this  Washington individual health insurance plan depending on age.   This is a $2 million catastrophic plan.

What people like is that  this plan  gives you 6 office visits each year including diagnostics, labs and xrays covered at 75%  without meeting the deductible.  One of the 6 visits can be for preventive care including a mammogram.  You also get 12 chiropractic visits and 12 accupuncture visits for $25 each  every year.  You also get a discount Rx card that gives you about 30-40% discount.  I also recommend getting a second free discount prescription card at my website.

If you go into the emergency room or into the hospital, you are subject to a $1,750 deductible and after that the plan pays 75%.  So you pay 25% up to a maximum of $5,000.  The out of pocket maximum in a given year is the sum so it is $6,750 before the plan pays 100% for covered expenses in a year.

Also although this is a 75% plan, with the Lifewise-Premera discount by using one of their many preferred providers, really it becomes an 80-85% plan.

Please call me for a quote and we can talk about this or many other plans.  Or you can go here to sign up online for LIfewise and the extra free discount RX card: http://benefitsnw.com/online-wa-state.htm
